DESCRIPTION

Nylon is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture which is most commonly used for skin closure. It has excellent elasticity, low capillarity, and hydrolyses to antibacterial products so is useful in contaminated tissues. However, it has poor handling characteristics, significant memory, and poor knot security.
